At Braeburn we offer programs that encourage children and youth to become leaders in their schools and communities:
Afterschool programs at 3 school sites (The Elms Junior Middle School, Braeburn Junior School and Thistletown Collegiate) and Lunch & Learn Program emphasize homework completion, physical literacy, art and creative expression in the context of friendship, fun, self-respect, personal growth and respect for others
Breakfast Club gives boys and girls a healthy start each day and prepares them for success
Summer Day Camps for children and youth present fun, challenging learning opportunities in sport, movement, creative expression, nutrition, leadership development, life living skills and academic skill maintenance.
The Club creates opportunities each year for 40 young people in Grades 11 and 12 to become peer tutors in our Lunch & Learn Program and Afterschool Programs.
Community Gardening, understanding and care for our natural resources is practiced by all groups each spring, summer and early fall.
The mission of all Boys and Girls Clubs in Canada is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
